A case study titled "Community Development Aspects of Khimti-1 Hydropower Project (KHP-1) in Nepal" is underway and expected to be completed by the end of August 2003. The case study will be submitted to GWP and eventually posted to GWP website.
The country coordinator Dr. Saphalya Amatya in addition to presenting a paper on Water and Culture in Dhaka workshop published a book titled "Pani Ra Sanskriti" on June 2003. It is the first publication on Nepali Water and Culture.
A Steering Committee Meeting of WWN-N was held on 8th January 2003 and 11th June 2003 respectively. The meeting decided to nominate Nepal Bhasa Misa Khala (Nepal Bhasa Women Forum) a Driver Agency for Nepal WWN. Ms. Mangala Karanjit is the country coordinator of the network.
The final study report on "Water and Poverty Linkages in Mountainous Areas" was submitted to IWMI in February 2003.
The 2002 Annual General Meeting of NWP/JVS was held on 19th January 2003. More than fifty (50) representatives from institutional and individual members of NWP/JVS and other invited experts in different water related areas participated in the meeting. Dr.
Twenty-five NWP/JVS members attended six international workshops/seminars and Meetings in the year 2004.
Activities on 2004
Nepal Water Partnership (NWP)/Jalsrot Vikas Sanstha (JVS), has undertaken the following major activities to support, assist and to attain GWP objectives in the context of integrated water resource management (IWRM).
The Annual General Meeting of Nepal Water Partnership (NWP)/JVS was held at Hotel Ambassador in Kathmandu on 23rd December 2005. The representatives of Institutional members and Individual members of NWP/JVS attended the meeting.
The third extension phase of Community Approach to Flood Management Project has been carried out in the Rautahat District and the national level workshop is planned in Kathmandu by the end of February to disseminate the information to all the concerned stakeholders.
